Controller
POSITION OVERVIEW
As a key member of the finance and accounting team, the Controller will report to the CFO and bring the financial acumen, knowledge, and experience needed to ensure the development of a world class accounting organization to the Company. Functional responsibilities will include ownership of financial reporting, budget/forecasting, general accounting, cost accounting, internal control functions, working capital, taxes, cash management and risk management.
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional with excellent judgment and a strong ability to manage projects. As Controller, they will be a hands-on, results-driven leader who brings a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of financial reporting. This individual will mentor and lead the finance team while driving continuous improvement across financial operations. Prior experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment is required. Experience with foreign entity consolidations is a plus.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead preparation and issuance of monthly consolidated financial statements, reporting packages and dashboards within defined timelines
- Lead and manage the budget and forecasting processes
- Manage and develop the accounting team, promote culture of teamwork, monitor progress to goals, and maximize skill sets within the team
- Lead and support accounting team on day-to-day accounting responsibilities
- Ensure credit agreement/covenant compliance; prepare and deliver required lender reporting, manage the accounts receivable revolver process
- Manage the banking processes and relationships
- Instill a culture of continuous improvement for accounting processes and controls and maintain segregation of duties
- Cross-departmental coordination of the ERP system version upgrade annually
- Manage preparation and support of all external audits; serve as a key resource for external auditors
- Support preparation of tax returns
- Maintain cash flow forecasts and financing record-keeping
- Manage company’s insurance needs and renewals
- Work with the management team to further develop the Company’s reporting based on business needs

- Play a strategic role as a proactive advisor to the CFO
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- A degree in accounting, business administration, or finance
- CPA designation (inactive or active), strongly preferred
- A minimum of 8 years of financial experience of increasing responsibility
- Clear understanding of inventory management, cost accounting, cash flow dynamics, and management towards profitable growth
- High proficiency working directly in ERP systems, advanced Excel skills
